We are proud to announce that Nelton has been selected by Norwegian ship designer and system integrator Sirius Design & Integration AS to develop the Basic Design package for a next-generation longline vessel, design type SDI1149.
The new vessel is being built for the Faroese shipping company P/F Regn, a company within the well-established Framherji Group. The construction contract has been awarded to the Norwegian shipyard Stadyard in Raudeberg, with delivery scheduled for the summer of 2028. The SDI1149 design is a future-oriented response to the evolving demands of modern fisheries. With a length overall (LOA) of 50.3 meters and a specialized freezer hold capacity of 630 m³, the vessel is engineered specifically to maintain high raw material quality and ensure seamless operations in the unforgiving environment of the North Atlantic.
To bring this project to life, Sirius Design & Integration has worked in close synergy with the shipowner, the yard, and key technical suppliers.
The development of the design focused on creating a balanced, high-performance vessel by integrating:
- Highly efficient catch handling and optimized onboard logistics,
- Energy-efficient operations and robust technological solutions,
- Safe, ergonomic, and high-standard working and living conditions for the crew on board.
Securing the Basic Design package for such an advanced vessel further solidifies Nelton’s position as a trusted, high-competence engineering partner within the Nordic maritime and naval architecture sectors.
Thank you for the trust! We look forward to shaping the future of maritime engineering together.
